What’s your job on the production?

Production Manager
What’s the hardest part about telling a story this big with a small cast in a small room?

In the theater when something is hard, that usually means that you just have to be that much more creative. One of my favorite things about working with Dreamscape is that they bring together artists who are inspired by these types of challenges – instead of daunted by them. But since I’m the production manager I’ll say budget. This is a play about money after all.

What’s your favorite aspect of your work on the play (so far)?

I thrive on being a jack-of-all-trades. I’m looking forward to helping this great team bring their ideas to life.

What are you most excited for the audience to experience when they come to The Improbable Fall, Rise & Fall of John Law?

There is something special that happens when an audience learns about something that ACTUALLY happened that they’ve never heard about before. I’m looking forward to hearing people’s thoughts as they leave the theater and the discussions that this story will inspire.

If you became a millionaire overnight what would you do with your newfound wealth (besides donating generously to your favorite non-profit theatre company, of course)?

TRAVEL!

What’s your take on John Law (or at least Matt’s version of John Law) – hero, villain, or somewhere in between?

John Law was so ahead of his time I don’t think it was possible for his contemporaries to see him as anything other than a villain of crazy person. He was a risk taker, and he gambled with the wealth of an entire nation – but hey, no risk, no reward right?
